I'm Feeln Grizzly

Okay so I'm in love with a few bands that due to my skin color some closed minded folks think I'm acting "white" when I blast these certain musical interests of mine. It's like, there's some black prerequisite for being......black. Like "don't wear those pants like that that's to tight", "Don't talk like that thats to proper you should say LIBARY or Pacific to be specific". It's just like some people who won't go out the hood or past downtown Chicago, their love for music never goes out past their neighborhood boundaries either. I find it upsetting to know that some people won't grow past race so far as to experience music until a Jay Z or Kanye mentions them and then like POOF! oh, they're cool now. Well here's one of my selections that have gotten alot more cool since J Hova started being a fan. This is Grizzly Bear and this is my favorite youtube video on these guys. Singing in a freakin bathroom sounding like pure angels. Great music for a 420 break if you know what I mean.....wink wink

I'm sitting here trying not to be to excited. If you're a performer you already know that feeling of "bout to rock this show" before a big one and that's exactly how I'm feeling. Saturday October 16th my band Black Orchard will be opening up for Raekwon the mutha fuckn Chef, that's right. The Black O fam has been holding it down for about three years now and we're finally getting a little bit More exposure. I hope...check that, I know we gonna rock it like we do at the Red Kiva every last thursday of the month(Red Kiva 1108 W. Randolph 10pm Every last thursaday).

This is a joint from this past summer performing our show closer "Poppin". That's right the fat boy got his shirt off as always.

After watching that perhaps you'll come check us out if your the "jump around hands in the air" type of music lover I hope you are.

Jazzy Belle

So in early September I just finished a new video for the Poet/Lyricist/Actor/Playwright/Basketball Coach Harold Green. What he did was a poetry mixtape entitled the Color Line Vol. 2 (I recommend that you listen to the first one it's a heater as well). He then got 12 different directors for all 12 of the tracks that he made for this project. The videos have been pretty dope and you can check them all out at www.haroldandthebeard.com . I absolutely loved the fact that Harold had asked me to be a part of this project on the film side because of the opportunity it gave me to push my style a little further, and by style I mean a look that I'm hoping to be able to call my own. So here it is and if you like it you can vote it best video at the previous site mentioned those voting polls are open til Nov.15th and boy do I need the help with those votes.
