Another dope Artist....... MORUF!

So it's happening again like whatever year that was when Ruff Ryders was jumping off and pherrell and the neptunes just came in, right after that new ass Virginia Timbaland sound had becomes it's own. It's happening! Crazy new talent is pouring itself into this present time from Dom Kennedy(Who I must say in 2011 watch out) to B.O.B to Pac Div and the mutha mutha Cool Kids. It's a lot of talented MC's with a lot of dope beats out here amongst the bullshit we're hearing. Well in my book MORUF is another cat that's mad sincere with the lyrics and highly capable of keeping up with the best of what the new has to offer. I cam up on him just a few weeks ago and then finally listened to his latest project Garden State of Mind:Ready to live.......the shits dope. It takes me back to a time when niggas still had to blow on catridges to get them to work, the good ol days with a sense of now. Check the Jersey boy out it's worth it.

Drunken Monkee is Bronson (This video is kick ass)

So it started out like every other conversation i have with a good friend thats also an artist. Light one up and begin to talk about why we as recording artist, poets, video directors, and painters cant "get on". The downward talk about how doing this indie artist shit while getting older by the minute is getting so depressing you'd give anything to just strike a big deal with some sponsor or major label so you and the crew can finally "blow" and go from rags to riches. Then finally getting past the blah blah blah of every artist situation something happens an idea emerges through and on this occassion it happened to be one of my close friends the Drunken Monkeee. He says "Man ima do a video as Bronson". Im like "the actor?". He's like "Nah the prisoner the movie was made about".

Most of the time these types of ideas get so big as far as supplies and budget they slip away but this time my mans held on to it to the finish. Bronson is a movie based on the life of the UK's most violent prisoner Charlie Bronson who's birth name is Michael Peterson the film was directed by Nicholas Refn and looks incredible, so when Drunk teamed up with my other friend and artist, Amir George, who paints on his canvas with the 7D camera, I was a little unsure about how they would do this remake concept video off the Bronson movie. Well, in the end it turns out in my opinion this is both Amir and Drunks best work I've seen yet. I love these guys for the hell of a job they did, even Drunken Monkeee spent a month getting into the Bronson character to get the scenes down to perfection. So this is it. Watch the movie and the video you'll be pleased the wole way around.

How I feel Sometimes

So I just showed the video around facebook in which it got very few views. I was never sure I should push the project that took a while for me to make, but now I'm like "what are you waiting for". The project entitled "How I feel Sometimes" is just that, my reflections on situations, perspectives, and emotions about......everything. Some of it is abstract, some of it lyrical, other parts are silly and redundant. It's like I say in the commercial a "Universe of Sound", but not only that it's a universe of process. I say that because some of the songs I freestyled while there are others it took a while to sit down and write. How I feel sometimes is a gritty cassette soundscape that I'm pretty proud of in the end of it all, and here it is for your enjoyment.

I'm trying to capture all my talents in one place from the films to the music. You can download different projects i've done and look at a couple of vids and shorts. Plus even though I haven't finalized this in my head I think i'll be doing a whole project a week, like an E.P release every Thursday or some film project for the free until.....shit..... guess until I don't feel like it anymore, which would probably be "Until the 12th of never". That's the name of these free joints then "Until the 12th of never"series. I'll post all things on the blog and the website.

I'm Feeln Grizzly

Okay so I'm in love with a few bands that due to my skin color some closed minded folks think I'm acting "white" when I blast these certain musical interests of mine. It's like, there's some black prerequisite for being......black. Like "don't wear those pants like that that's to tight", "Don't talk like that thats to proper you should say LIBARY or Pacific to be specific". It's just like some people who won't go out the hood or past downtown Chicago, their love for music never goes out past their neighborhood boundaries either. I find it upsetting to know that some people won't grow past race so far as to experience music until a Jay Z or Kanye mentions them and then like POOF! oh, they're cool now. Well here's one of my selections that have gotten alot more cool since J Hova started being a fan. This is Grizzly Bear and this is my favorite youtube video on these guys. Singing in a freakin bathroom sounding like pure angels. Great music for a 420 break if you know what I mean.....wink wink

I'm sitting here trying not to be to excited. If you're a performer you already know that feeling of "bout to rock this show" before a big one and that's exactly how I'm feeling. Saturday October 16th my band Black Orchard will be opening up for Raekwon the mutha fuckn Chef, that's right. The Black O fam has been holding it down for about three years now and we're finally getting a little bit More exposure. I hope...check that, I know we gonna rock it like we do at the Red Kiva every last thursday of the month(Red Kiva 1108 W. Randolph 10pm Every last thursaday).

This is a joint from this past summer performing our show closer "Poppin". That's right the fat boy got his shirt off as always.

After watching that perhaps you'll come check us out if your the "jump around hands in the air" type of music lover I hope you are.
